  • HOW TO COOK PASTA PERFECTLY

Pasta is the most popular of Italy’s many culinary delights. There is no more natural and simple food than pasta, which is made from two ingredients only- flour and water.

PAN: Use a large pan, preferably made from aluminum or steel. Use a pan, which is taller than it is wide.

WATER AND SALT: Allow 4 cups water and 2-½ teaspoons salt for 3-1/2 ounces pasta.

WATER: Only add the pasta when the salted water has reached a rolling boil. Cover the pan, and as soon as the water comes back to a boil remove the lid and leave uncovered.

TIMING: Follow the packet instructions but check the pasta at least twice to avoid overcooking.

Wash and soak rice for 20 minutes before cooking. If you would like to do in the pan, you can do by boiling 2 cups of water in a pan, once the water gets boiled add the drained rice. Keep the flame in medium and close it with a lid. Let it cook. Once the rice gets cooked, switch off the flame and then open the lid and fluff the rice with a fork.
